I am writing again to urge you and your colleagues to withdraw funding from, and demand immediate cessation to this Republican administration’s illegal and unprovoked war on Iran. The $1 billion a day being spent on this needless war could be better spent improving the lives of working Americans. The cost of living in the U.S. is soaring to pay for this violence. We have seen the human, moral, and financial costs of unilateral, attempted regime-change wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. We cannot allow history to repeat itself. By not stopping this war, you and your Republican colleagues are complicit in it. This has become not just this Republican administration’s war, but the Republican party’s war. Are you content with that legacy? You have both the authority and the duty to act. My wife and I urge you to block any further funding for this war and to use War Powers Resolutions to force congressional votes to end this war. We look forward to seeing you act with urgency in this matter.
