Restore SNAP Funding and Remove Barriers to Food Aid Now

To: Sen. Padilla, Sen. Schiff, Rep. McClintock

From: A constituent in El Dorado Hills, CA

June 6

Restore the SNAP funding that was cut last year and remove the partisan conditions blocking hungry people from getting food. Farmers have already grown it. People need it. There is no policy justification for letting that equation fail — only political ones. Food prices are rising and projected to climb even higher, which means more families are being pushed toward hunger every month. The United States has more billionaires than any country on earth, and it is a moral failure to let people go without food in that context. Congress has the power to fix this right now by fully funding SNAP and stripping out any eligibility restrictions that exist to score political points rather than serve people in need.
