Budget Bill includes Policy Poison Pill

To: Sen. Kim, Rep. Norcross, Sen. Booker

From: A constituent in Cherry Hill, NJ

May 26, 2025

The budget bill's provision to prohibit holding parties in contempt for violating nationwide injunctions is clearly not about budgets. The Republican sycophants are sneaking protections for Trump into a budget bill to abuse the Reconciliation process. If the roles were reversed, they would be complaining to the parliamentarian until the bill was prohibited from reconciliation. They have tried and succeeded with this tact several times since the Obama administration. You must work the system just as they have in the past, to prevent Trump's ascension to a dictator. Lean on the parliamentarian to require this provision be struck, or the bill be put through the normal non-reconciliation process.
