I am writing to you out of deep concern for the future of our democracy. As we watch Donald Trump and his allies continue to dismantle the Constitution, eliminate vital programs that millions of Americans rely on, and undermine the integrity of our federal institutions, I feel an overwhelming sense of despair. The foundations of our democracy are under attack, and I urge you to take action before it is too late. The threats we face are not abstract or partisan—they are existential. Trump’s relentless efforts to consolidate power, erode checks and balances, and silence opposition are clear moves toward authoritarian rule. Federal employees who have served this nation with dedication are being targeted, and institutions meant to serve the public good are being hollowed out in service of personal and political gain. What’s even more alarming is the vast influence of wealth in our political system. Even if every ordinary voter pooled their resources, we could not compete with the immense fortunes of the New American Oligarchs who are shaping policy to benefit themselves at the expense of the people. This is not democracy; this is plutocracy. I implore you to stand firm in defense of the Constitution. Do everything in your power to prevent Trump from seizing total control over all branches of government. We need leaders who are willing to put country over party, democracy over personal ambition. History will remember those who stood against tyranny—and those who enabled it. Please, for the sake of our nation, fight back against this authoritarian overreach. The American people are counting on you.
