Revoke Musk's Unconstitutional Access to Federal Payment System

To: Sen. Moreno, Rep. Taylor, Sen. Husted

From: A constituent in Cincinnati, OH

February 2

I am writing to express grave concern about recent reports that Elon Musk's team has been granted access to the federal payment system by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. This represents an alarming overreach that threatens to undermine constitutional checks and balances on government spending. Giving unelected private individuals the ability to monitor and potentially restrict funds appropriated by Congress is an unacceptable violation of the separation of powers. It opens the door for politically-motivated interference in critical government operations and services that millions of Americans rely upon. This unconstitutional move must be immediately reversed. Allowing a private taskforce handpicked by the President to exert control over the entire federal disbursement process is unprecedented and sets a dangerous precedent that erodes democratic accountability. I urge you to take immediate action to revoke this access and uphold Congress' constitutional authority over federal spending. Unchecked executive overreach of this magnitude cannot be tolerated in a functioning democracy. The integrity of our governing institutions and commitment to democratic norms is at stake.
