Hello, As your constituent, I am alarmed and appalled that the reopening of Guantanamo bay has gone as planned and the first shipment of immigrants has landed there. Sending immigrants to Guantanamo Bay is a grave violation of human dignity. This is a place that is known for its past injustices and it is being turned into a new symbol of cruelty and hate. This goes against the principles of justice and respect for life that the United States of America is founded upon. Human beings are being transported across waters to a place where family nor lawyers will be able to visit. This is beyond injustice. This is a cruelty that we as the people didn’t even think befit terrorists. I beg you to do everything in your power to end this persecution and dehumanization of immigrants, illegal or not, in this country. Thank you for your time.
