I am alarmed at the recent attacks by the Trump administration on free speech and basic freedoms in this country. He has abused the power of the Executive branch to launch investigations into his political opponents, threatened Federal employees with their jobs if there is a government shutdown, just signed an Executive Order that targets anyone on the left who defies his corrupt and authoritarian power. Has not attempted to lower the atmosphere of political violence, but simply amplified it towards those who oppose him, threatened Democratic leaning American cities with military force, corruptly demanded that the DOJ indict those he holds grudges against, and is brazenly using the Executive powers to personally enrich himself (I'm thinking of the Liberty Financial, UAE crypto for chips deal brokered by Steve Witkoff). All of this is just the tip of the iceberg over the last few weeks. Unless Congress finds the will and backbone to stand up to these abuses, we will soon be an authoritarian state. Please do something to restore decency and the rule of law to the United States, I fear that if not, it will soon be too late.
