The ongoing hostilities in Gaza have resulted in a catastrophic humanitarian crisis, with staggering numbers of Palestinian civilians killed, wounded or displaced. While diplomatic efforts continue, the relentless violence and bloodshed demand an immediate ceasefire and decisive action to protect innocent lives. I urge you to apply robust pressure on all parties to prioritize a permanent ceasefire and an end to the disproportionate suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza. Continuing to fund one side while turning a blind eye to potential war crimes and human rights violations is unconscionable. Our tax dollars must not enable or perpetuate a genocide - they should instead be directed towards achieving a just and lasting peace. The credibility of our nation is at stake in how we respond to this crisis.
