I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the current atrocities being committed in our great state and its impact on our communities . As a resident of Artesia, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges we face, particularly as we navigate the repercussions of federal policies that often disregard our needs. In light of the ongoing turmoil caused by the Trump administration and its supporters, I urge you to consider withholding our federal tax contributions. It is disheartening to see our hard-earned money being funneled into states that openly criticize and undermine our values. Our communities are being terrorized across our streets in Paramount, Cerritos, Camarillo, Glendale. I could name so much more. These states benefit from the very resources that we provide, yet they continue to disparage us and our way of life. They don’t see us as Americans. California is a vibrant and diverse state that contributes significantly to the nation’s economy. We should not be in a position where we are subsidizing states that have consistently supported the terrorism on our communities. They have not respected our communities by weaponizing ICE, the National Guard and the Marines. They’re advocating for it. By withholding federal taxes, we can send a clear message that we will no longer carry the burden of those who do not support us. It is time to show the administration that we are keeping them afloat, not the other way around. I believe that taking this stand will not only protect our interests but also empower our communities to thrive without the constraints imposed by a federal government that often overlooks our needs. We must prioritize the well-being of Californians and ensure that our resources are used to uplift our own communities. We need to look out for us if our own federal government isn’t.
