Oppose the Paramount-Warner Bros Merger

To: Rep. McClintock, Sen. Schiff, Sen. Padilla

From: A constituent in El Dorado Hills, CA

March 18

Congress must block the Paramount Skydance merger with Warner Bros Discovery and launch an immediate investigation into the regulatory approval process. This deal reeks of corruption and threatens to hand Trump-aligned billionaires control over a massive media empire that includes CNN and Warner Bros' iconic brands. Netflix withdrew from its competing bid after Netflix’s CEO met with Trump administration officials; the White House made clear it preferred the Ellison family's Paramount offer. Allowing this merger to go forward is an antitrust disaster threatening higher prices and fewer choices for Americans. This merger would concentrate enormous media power in the hands of billionaires with direct ties to Trump, endangering press freedom and competition. Congress must exercise oversight authority, make sure antitrust laws are being enforced, protect consumers, demand answers about White House interference in the regulatory process, and use every available tool to stop this deal.
