HR1 Trump’s Big Beautiful Death for Americans Bill
To: Sen. Schiff, Sen. Padilla
From: A verified voter in Lompoc, CA
May 22
I am writing as a middle-class American earning around $100,000/year to urge you to vote NO on H.R. 1. This bill is a disaster for families like mine and a direct threat to the vulnerable across our state.
Key Harms of H.R. 1:
• Cuts to Medicaid and SNAP will force rural clinics and hospitals to close, costing lives.
• Medicare slashed by $500B, forcing nursing homes to shut down. Families will be left caring for seniors without training or resources. Costing lives.
• Tax breaks for the wealthy, crumbs for working people. Straining an already struggling population that will result in costing lives.
• Education gutted by eliminating subsidized loans and limiting Pell Grants. Less education = less good choices. Costing lives.
• Public lands opened to drilling, risking water, ecosystems, and worsening hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfires and droughts.
This is not reform—it is cruelty disguised as policy.
You must use the Byrd Rule to strike non-budgetary attacks, including:
• Ideological targeting of nonprofits
• AI regulation bans
• Oil drilling provisions
Every “yes” vote will be seen as a betrayal, a morally corrupt act that history will not forget. This bill lights a match to a powder keg—public outrage is rising, and faith in government is already near collapse.
Vote NO on H.R. 1. Tell your colleagues to do the same. Do not let this bill become law.
