The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is unacceptable. For over two months, Israel has blocked all aid supplies from entering Gaza, denying food, water, medicine, and fuel to the population.
This blockade is causing mass starvation, deaths from malnutrition and lack of medical care, and the spread of disease. Starving civilians as a weapon of war is a violation of the Geneva Conventions and constitutes a war crime. Israel's actions are exacerbating an already dire situation caused by their military assault that has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians. An immediate ceasefire must be implemented to allow humanitarian aid to reach those in desperate need. Furthermore, an independent investigation into potential war crimes committed during this conflict should be conducted by an impartial international authority.
The world cannot stand by and allow this atrocity to continue. Decisive action is required to end the suffering of the people of Gaza and hold those responsible accountable for their actions under international law.
