I am writing to demand that Congress take immediate action regarding President Trump's commission of treason against the United States and the people of Iran. President Trump disclosed to a Fox News correspondent that the United States covertly supplied weapons to Iranian protesters through Kurdish intermediaries. This was not a slip. He stated it openly, apparently to appear powerful and in control. This is treason. Here is why: Trump's disclosure has directly aided a hostile foreign government — Iran — by handing them the evidence they need to brand the entirety of their domestic opposition as US-controlled foreign agents. Organic protesters with no connection to the United States can now be tried for treason under Iranian law because of what Trump said. He has given the Iranian government a weapon to use against its own people, and against US intelligence assets and Kurdish contacts who are now exposed and in danger of arrest, torture, and execution. Beyond Iran, Trump has undermined US intelligence operations globally. No asset anywhere in the world can now trust that the President of the United States will not burn them for a soundbite. Recruitment efforts have been damaged. Ongoing operations have been compromised. Lives are at risk. This administration does not get to claim it cares about the Iranian people. They sent them weapons and then told the world about it — destroying the very people they claimed to support. Congress must: 1. Open an immediate investigation into Trump's disclosure of covert operations. 2. Pursue all available legal and constitutional remedies, including charges of treason. 3. Demand accountability for every life endangered by this reckless, deliberate act. This is not politics. This is treason. Act accordingly.
