Stop the Epstein Files Cover-Up and End Political Redactions

To: Rep. Messmer, Sen. Banks, Sen. Young

From: A verified voter in Mount Vernon, IN

December 22

I am writing to demand that you take immediate action to stop the cover-up and ensure the complete release of all Jeffrey Epstein files as required by the Epstein Files Transparency Act signed into law last month. The Justice Department's heavily redacted document release and subsequent removal of files from its own website represents a clear violation of this law and an unacceptable obstruction of the truth. The DOJ released over 13,000 documents but failed to include key materials specifically required by law, including a 60-count indictment and prosecution memo. The second batch of documents was so heavily redacted that it rendered the release meaningless. Now, files that were initially released are being removed from public access. This pattern of behavior is not about protecting victims. This is about shielding powerful people from accountability through political redactions. Both Rep. Thomas Massie and Rep. Ro Khanna, the bipartisan co-sponsors of this transparency law, have stated publicly that the DOJ is flouting the law. Rep. Massie has revealed that members are discussing drafting orders to bring inherent contempt charges against Attorney General Pam Bondi for these inadequate releases. When lawmakers from both parties agree that the administration is breaking the law, the situation demands urgent action. The American people were promised full transparency. President Trump campaigned on declassifying these files, and Congress passed a law with a clear deadline. That deadline has passed, and the DOJ is now claiming it needs more weeks to comply while actively removing documents that were already made public. I strongly urge you to support any and all measures necessary to force complete compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, including contempt proceedings against Attorney General Bondi if necessary. Stop the cover-up. Get the truth. End the political redactions designed to protect the powerful. This is about the rule of law and government accountability to the people. P. S. Complaints are being filed against AG Pam Bondi with the Florida Bar Association and with the DC AG.
