Jeffries Must Go: His Kushner Meeting Disqualifies Him From Democratic Leadership

To: Rep. Chu, Sen. Schiff, Sen. Padilla

From: A verified voter in Pasadena, CA

August 24

Hakeem Jeffries needs to step down from Democratic leadership. His secret meeting with Jared Kushner — a man with no government title who has pocketed billions from Saudi and Emirati interests while playing diplomat — isn't a political miscalculation. It's a betrayal of everything Democrats are supposed to stand for heading into the midterms. Kushner is currently under investigation by Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee for exactly these conflicts of interest. Jamie Raskin put it plainly: "You cannot both be a diplomat and a financial pawn of the Saudi monarchy at the same time." Jeffries knows this. He met with Kushner anyway, privately, with no apparent demands for documents or accountability. That's not leadership. That's capitulation. Democrats are favored to retake the House in November. The entire mandate of that majority is aggressive oversight of Trump-world corruption. A leader who holds quiet summits with the president's son-in-law before a single subpoena is issued cannot be trusted to deliver that mandate. Replace Jeffries with someone who will fight.
