I am writing as a concerned American who previously supported President Trump in the last election. While I believed in his vision for revitalizing the country, I am deeply troubled by the ongoing tariff policies and the increasingly unilateral approach to economic decision-making. These tariffs are not only hurting American businesses and farmers, but they are also raising costs for consumers and creating instability in global markets. The long-term damage to our economy could be severe, and I urge Congress to take a more active role in overseeing and balancing this kind of executive authority. No single individual should have unchecked power over economic policies that affect millions of lives. As a result of these actions and the lack of accountability, I plan to vote for Democrats in the upcoming midterms as a signal for change and stronger checks and balances.
