I am extremely distressed by the abduction and unlawful deportation to a torture prison of Kilmar Abrego Garcia and over 200 other immigrants who have been denied due process. Trump’s absurd claim that he has no power to bring Abrego home, in defiance of the Supreme Court’s order that he do so, is wildly unacceptable. There _must_ be a mechanism for removing people from wrongful imprisonment and restoring their constitutional rights. I saw that Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) is plannjng to fly to El Salvador later this week to challenge Abrego’s imprisonment. I wonder if you would consider joining him, and encouraging additional members of Congress to go as well. Every day that those prisoners are detained is another day of state terrorism being inflicted upon them. Democrats in Congress must try to wrest the Constitution back from the tyrant and restore the rule of law.
