I am writing as a Texas constituent to urge you to publicly support a serious examination of whether President Trump remains fit to serve under the standards established by the Constitution and the 25th Amendment.
The Constitution is not a partisan document. The 25th Amendment exists to protect the nation when legitimate questions arise about a president’s ability to faithfully execute the duties of the office. Those concerns deserve honest evaluation, not political avoidance.
Leadership requires the courage to put country before party. If there are credible concerns regarding a president’s fitness, elected officials have a responsibility to address them openly and responsibly.
History will remember which leaders chose constitutional duty over political convenience. I expect my senators to defend democratic institutions, uphold the rule of law, and place the interests of the American people above partisan loyalty.
I urge you to publicly state your position and support any lawful constitutional process necessary to evaluate the President’s fitness for office.
