Reject unconstitutional voter suppression, protect right to vote

To: Sen. Fetterman, Sen. McCormick

From: A constituent in Morrisville, PA

April 10, 2025

The SAVE Act is a blatant attempt to disenfranchise eligible voters, particularly marginalized communities and military members who face greater barriers in accessing identification documents. This bill would erect unnecessary hurdles to the fundamental right to vote, undermining the integrity of our elections for women and other groups. Requiring documentary proof of citizenship for voter registration is an undue burden that could prevent millions of citizens from participating in our democracy. Studies have consistently shown that voter impersonation fraud is exceedingly rare, rendering this legislation a solution in search of a problem. Protecting the right to vote for all eligible citizens should be the priority, not creating additional obstacles that disproportionately impact vulnerable populations. I urge you to reject this unconstitutional voter suppression measure and safeguard the sanctity of our electoral process.
