I am writing to urge you to vote against nominating Hakeem Jeffries for Speaker of the House during the upcoming internal Democratic caucus elections. Our party needs leadership that represents the broad coalition of Democratic voters rather than the establishment status quo. I ask that you push for an open, competitive process within the caucus to nominate an alternative candidate who will boldly champion working-class priorities. If a competitive option is not permitted internally, I urge you to withhold your vote on the House floor in January until a leader emerges who truly reflects the vision of the electorate. Please listen to your constituents and vote for a new direction in House leadership.
