Mike Huckabee has a long and troubling record of Islamophobia and anti-Palestinian racism. Now, he’s Trump’s choice for U.S. Ambassador to Israel. Huckabee’s confirmation is sure to embolden the administration’s nefarious aims in Gaza and deepen divisions in the region at a time when diplomacy is more critical than ever. Huckabee has repeatedly made inflammatory statements dehumanizing Palestinians and Muslims.
In 2008, he denied Palestinian identity altogether, stating, “There’s really no such thing as a Palestinian.” He has openly pushed racist and exclusionary views, disregarding Palestinian rights by supporting illegal settlements, and justifying Israel’s complete ownership over Palestinian land. His Islamophobic rhetoric is just as dangerous.
Huckabee has vilified Islam, calling it “a religion that promotes the most murderous mayhem on the planet.” His words are not just offensive — they incite discrimination and violence, harming Muslims both in the U.S. and abroad. This is not the kind of person who should represent the United States globally.
