You Say Radical. We Say GOP

Radical: “Favoring or characterized by sweeping, drastic, or far-from-mainstream political or social views.” Elon Musk has funneled at least $366M into the midterms to buy the GOP their jobs. More than $276M just since July. More than $76M has gone into his own super PAC, which is focused on seven Senate seats in battleground states, and more than thirty House races. This is just the money that law requires must be disclosed. In both this election and in 2024, Musk has made seven-figure dark money donations, that aren’t required to disclose donors. The Republican Senate Leadership Fund has poured close to $100M into Ohio alone to defeat Sherrod Brown. They are expected to dump close to $200M into Texas to defeat James Talarico. The political ads are short on reality. But really effective as bad satire. Still, Musk’s money is busily producing literature accusing Dems of being radicals. The real radicalism in American politics today comes the right. From those who are actively consolidating the power of the government and the money of the American people into their own pockets. After all, Musk’s businesses depend on government contracts. Our money. Nearly $22M of our money has been spent to air Trump ads. With nearly half spent after Trump promised to fund what the WH absurdly calls PSAs through his super PAC. Nope. Instead the ads were paid for with our money Republicans in Congress allocated to the DHS. When asked on Face the Nation about a reimbursement for taxpayers, DHS’s Markwayne Mullin answered: “Any time we can do a public service announcement and brag about America, I’m all about it.... I think 99% of the coverage from President Trump is negative…. I commend the opportunity of President Trump to give us the opportunity to brag about America.” “So, no reimbursement,” the host concluded. The ads are hugely unpopular. Other…Trump’s dropping of sanctions against Russian oil looks like an attempt to force Ukraine to surrender…and to save the Russian economy. Perhaps in order to finally complete the multiple business deals that the Russians are known to have discussed with American negotiators and others in Trump’s orbit? Houthi rebels attacked Saudi Arabia’s main airport, killing at least 20 people. Oil prices are rising again. And Trump is said to be considering joining the Saudi fight against the Houthis. Axios reported that the US military is drawing up plans for another round of major combat operations in Iran. Hegseth has named Elon Musk to Project Meridian, a group charged with plotting out the future of the American military. (WTF?) And Trump appointed a WH new press secretary of disinformation. Katie Zacharia is a conspiracy theorist who pushed the “Pizzagate” conspiracy. The lie that leading Dems and Hollywood figures were sexually trafficking children. While engaging in cannibalism. All run by an organization out of a DC pizza joint. What exactly is the GOP definition of radical these days?
