War Secretary Pete Hegseth must be impeached immediately. His evangelical Christian nationalist ideology has remade military leadership into a vehicle for extremist religious warfare, and the consequences are now undeniable.
The Military Religious Freedom Foundation has received over 200 complaints from service members across dozens of installations. These complaints reveal commanders using end-times rhetoric to justify war with Iran, with one telling his combat unit that "President Trump has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth." Service members report their commanders speaking with "unrestricted euphoria" about how bloody the conflict must become to fulfill fundamentalist Christian eschatology.
This is a direct violation of the constitutional separation of church and state and a betrayal of every service member who does not share these apocalyptic beliefs. Hegseth has weaponized his position to transform our military into a Christian nationalist crusade. Commanders are now openly promoting religious war to troops who could be deployed at any moment.
Impeach Hegseth now before more lives are sacrificed to his extremist worldview.
