I strongly oppose the latest redistricting maps. I’ve spoken out before—many of us have—and we’ve been ignored. Killeen has been gerrymandered for decades, ever since they tried to eliminate Chet Edwards. We’ve been shoved into absurd districts like TX-11 with San Angelo, and even now, the new map continues to dilute our voice.
Yes, TX-31 is geographically more logical—but that doesn’t matter when our votes still don’t count. Killeen voted 63% for Biden, yet we’re stuck in a safely Republican district. Worse, Killeen is STILL split, with part of northeast Killeen carved out near Long Branch Park. That’s unacceptable. Killeen, Fort Hood, Harker Heights, Copperas Cove, and Nolanville are one community and should NOT be divided.
Texans are DONE with this. People have shown up to hearings, submitted letters—we’ve fought this process. And still, these maps prioritize power over fairness. Over the same decades Texas has aggressively gerrymandered districts like mine, voter turnout has dropped. Texans have lost faith in government. Low turnout doesn’t just hurt Democrats—it disconnects Republicans from their own voters, too. No one wins in a system like this. We deserve fair, competitive maps. Stop splitting our cities. Stop ignoring our voices.
