Our representatives need to use any tools at their disposal to stop the unlawful actions of ICE that have been green-lit by this administration. Given the current Congressional makeup, one of the most useful tools is threat of a shutdown. Yet I am reading of multiple bills being agreed upon to prevent such a shutdown, including funding for ICE. November's cave yielded *nothing* on health care. Since then, costs have skyrocketed. But no talk of a shutdown on this issue? Even now that it's here? ICE is attacking, abducting, and abusing our citizens. Not to mention the deaths that have occurred to people in their custody. No talk of a shutdown? Not even to protect people's lives? If Congress will not act now, while the populace is literally under attack from the government, will they ever? The message to the people, who thus far still consent to be governed, is "no". History says this trajectory is unsustainable. Please stand up for us. Use the tools available. All of them. It is time for Good Trouble. If you won't, get out of the way for someone who will.
