I am writing as your constituent to urge you to oppose any attempt to weaken the United States’ commitment to NATO, withdraw from the alliance, or use threats against NATO allies to advance territorial demands involving Greenland.
NATO is not a symbolic commitment. It is a core part of US national security, European stability, and collective defense. At a time when Ukraine continues to resist Russia’s invasion, public threats toward NATO allies only create uncertainty, reward aggression, and make the United States less credible.
Congress has already recognized that no president should be able to unilaterally withdraw the United States from NATO. I urge you to defend that principle, insist on meaningful congressional oversight, and publicly oppose any action that would undermine NATO, weaken support for Ukraine, or threaten the sovereignty of Greenland and Denmark.
As someone who cares deeply about public safety and emergency preparedness, I believe reliable alliances matter. The United States is stronger when our commitments are clear, our partners can trust us, and authoritarian governments cannot divide democratic allies.
Please use your office to protect the NATO alliance, support Ukraine’s defense, and reject any effort to destabilize allied sovereignty or security.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
