The Madleen vessel is undertaking a critical humanitarian mission to deliver aid to the besieged people of Gaza. As the Palestinian enclave faces acute food and medical shortages due to the ongoing blockade, this civilian flotilla must be allowed safe passage to provide much-needed relief supplies. Any attempt to impede, attack or interfere with the Madleen would constitute a violation of international law and maritime conventions protecting civilian vessels on such missions. The delivery of aid to civilian populations should never be obstructed, especially in cases of grave humanitarian crisis. We urge all parties to facilitate the Madleen's safe transit and entrance into Gaza to alleviate the suffering of the people there. This peaceful mission poses no threat and is grounded in fundamental human rights and humanitarian principles.
