Demand DOJ Compliance with HR4405 and Accountability for Delayed Epstein Files Release

To: Sen. Bennet, Sen. Hickenlooper, Rep. Crank

From: A verified voter in Colorado Springs, CO

January 30

The Department of Justice remains in violation of HR4405, the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which mandated the release of all unclassified records relating to Jeffrey Epstein within 30 days of enactment. That deadline has long passed, yet the public still lacks access to critical information about Epstein's sex trafficking network, his associates, and the circumstances surrounding his death. This continued obstruction denies justice to survivors and shields potential perpetrators from accountability. HR4405 required the Attorney General to release comprehensive materials including flight logs, travel records, immunity deals, information on entities tied to Epstein's network, and internal DOJ communications. The bill specified that information could not be withheld based on embarrassment or political sensitivity. Yet Attorney General Pam Bondi has failed to comply with this clear statutory mandate. This defiance of congressional authority warrants holding her in contempt. The victims and survivors of Epstein's crimes have explicitly demanded the release of these files. They deserve to know the full scope of the trafficking operation that harmed them and to see all perpetrators held accountable through prosecution and imprisonment. Every day of delay compounds the injustice they have already suffered and allows those complicit in these crimes to evade consequences. Congress must act immediately to enforce compliance with HR4405. This includes initiating contempt proceedings against Bondi, conducting oversight hearings to determine why the DOJ has refused to follow the law, and using all available legislative tools to compel the release of these documents. The bill also required a report to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees within 15 days of release, detailing all government officials and politically exposed persons named in the materials. The public has a right to this information. I urge you to take immediate action to enforce HR4405, hold the Attorney General accountable for this violation, and ensure that the Epstein files are released without further delay. The survivors deserve justice, and the public deserves transparency.
