Please do everything in your power to stop the unconstitutional terror campaign by the Trump administration. The passage of the Big Ugly Bill turns the Department of Homeland Security into the highest funded military in the world! The intent of their cruel apparatus is clear. It will inflict immeasurable harm to all marginalized communities and all opponents. Secretary Noem has stated that the objective of boots on the ground in Los Angeles is to “liberate Californians” from their democratically elected leadership. Following the bombing in Iran, Noem equated dissenters to terrorists and vowed to remove them. Trump is musing about takeover plans for New York. When will they turn their eye to Massachusetts? As our state just celebrated the 250th anniversary of the midnight ride of Revere and Dawes, we remember that they rode out to warn Sam Adams and John Hancock that their government planned to arrest them for their dissent. Refuse to assist this lawless federal administration in any and every way. Insist that state and local law enforcement protect residents from abductions by demanding identification and arrest warrants from all unidentified, masked armed men. Shut down the ICEstapo “office building” in Burlington or any others being used to house detainees in inhumane conditions. Withhold any federal funds due. Refuse to work with groups participating in unconstitutional acts. I implore you to be bold and use EVERY tool available to you to oppose tyranny now and prepare for the inevitable conflicts to come. There may not be a second chance.
