Trump ordered the US military to blow up a Venezuelan boat he suspected of drug smuggling, killing all 11 people on board. Reporting indicates he may have actually ordered the murder of smuggled migrants, not drug traffickers. The president of the United States does not have the authority to issue a death sentence - for suspected criminals or otherwise - and murder people at will. Marco Rubio has already admitted that the vessel could have been intercepted, not blown up, and he threatened to do it again. Trump officials admitted to the NYT that they were still working on a justification for the murders to present to the public, knowing they acted against international human rights laws. Trump and everyone else involved must be held to account for their crimes.
