The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) appears to have unfettered access to sensitive data and operations at the Department of Education. DOGE staffers in their 20s have obtained administrative email accounts granting them broad privileges. This raises serious concerns about the misuse of authority and potential compromise of educational records. DOGE's artificial intelligence is combing through data, likely to identify areas for budget cuts and dissolution of the department, as President Trump seeks to eliminate it despite a lack of Congressional approval. This unchecked expansion of DOGE's power and Trump's attempts to bypass proper legislative channels threaten the integrity of our education system. Immediate oversight and restraints on DOGE's activities within the Department of Education are necessary to protect students' privacy and uphold democratic processes. Unilateral actions that undermine public education must be prevented.
