Over 3,800 children have been locked up in ICE detention in the last year. All different ages held in facilities that are miserable even for adults - like Dilley, where parents have described horrific conditions in court filings.* 1,300 have been held longer than 20 days, which is the court-ordered legal limit.
ICE has stopped paying outside medical providers - an absolute emergency. And thanks to RFK Jr, measles just broke out. It's only a matter of time before we see a child die.
*For those of you interested in law and order, 98% of those detained at Dilley have no criminal record. The CoreCivic corporation runs this concentration camp and is paid $180 million annually - which includes my tax dollars. CoreCivic also donates thousands to political campaigns and leadership PACs after being awarded no-bid contracts by elected officials who claim to be pro-life.
