I as a constituent am against the cuts to Medicaid funding. As I'm sure you know, Medicaid provides vital health care coverage to over 72 million Americans, including 31.5 million children, 9.1 million people with disabilities and 8.3 million seniors. Slashing Medicaid would rip away coverage from millions, forcing vulnerable populations to go without needed care and damage the economy further. Protecting Medicaid funding is crucial to ensuring affordable access to health care for over one-fifth of the country. To follow through with the $50 billion cut to state Medicaid budgets would devastate the program and put coverage at risk for millions more, and imposing lifetime caps could deny care to 185 million Medicaid enrollees. The assault on Medicaid cannot be allowed to move forward. The ill-advised pursuit of tax cuts for the rich must not come at the expense of health security for tens of millions of low-income families, children, seniors, and disabled individuals who rely on this essential program. Protect Medicaid and you'll protect those who are most vulnerable and those who need your help the most.
