As a voter who values fiscal responsibility, national security, and constitutional order, I wrote in support of impeachment proceedings against the President. The administration’s actions over the past year and a half have severely compromised our nation's economic stability and constitutional integrity. The imposition of unilateral tariffs caused self-inflicted economic damage, harming small American businesses and consumers. Furthermore, beginning and engaging in an unapproved war with Iran directly circumvents Congress’s sole authority to declare war under Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution. This war has directly caused gasoline and diesel prices to skyrocket, damaging truckers, farmers, and all Americans who rely on fossil fuels. Coupled with ongoing reports of immense corruption and executive overreach, these actions demonstrate a blatant disregard for the rule of law and conservative principles of limited government. Our constitutional checks and balances exist to prevent executive overreach and punish crimes against the American people. When a President abuses power and damages our country’s security and economic well-being, Congress must hold them accountable. I urge you to put oath over party, defend the Constitution, and support an immediate inquiry into impeachment.
