Vote against using budget reconciliation to fund military operations in Iran, ICE, and CBP. Americans are struggling with skyrocketing healthcare, food, and fuel prices. We need relief, not more cuts to safety net programs. Budget reconciliation requires new spending to be offset by equivalent cuts. That means funding for ICE and Iran war operations will come directly from programs families depend on, particularly Affordable Care Act financial assistance. Doubling down on cuts to fund human rights abuses at home and abroad is unacceptable. Congress should focus on addressing the real harms from rising costs that are crushing working families. Instead of expanding enforcement agencies with documented records of abuse, invest in healthcare affordability and economic relief. I expect you to stand against this reconciliation package and prioritize the needs of your constituents over militarism and mass deportation.
