Have you examined the amount of money the proposed cuts to Medicaid will impact in our district? It appears nearly 120,000 Alabamians in North Alabama—your constituents!—will be adversely impacted by the cuts, with the district losing nearly $1.5B over the next nine years. Almost each one of those 120K constituents have family in the district who will also be appalled that you supported such cruel, senseless cuts to fund tax breaks for billionaires. Note: THEY DON’T NEED THE MONEY. Your constituents do, and will not look favorably upon you for supporting cuts to their survival for a billionaire’s seventh yacht. I know that, if you or your staffers bother to respond at all, you’ll just note that government spending for “entitlements” is out of hand. Well, only if you don’t see clearly that the welfare of the nation depends upon the welfare of its citizenry, and that includes the impoverished and the elderly. Rethink your priorities, and recognize that your job is to protect your constituents from the predation of the superrich.
