Protect food assistance for vulnerable Michigan residents

To: Gov. Whitmer

From: A verified voter in Marquette, MI

December 6

President Trump’s budget has made entire groups of vulnerable people ineligible for food assistance, including refugees, asylees, survivors of human trafficking, survivors of domestic violence, and other noncitizens. The United States has long provided SNAP benefits to people who fled harm and who are working to rebuild their lives. I urge you to do everything in your power to ensure that our neighbors in Michigan continue to receive the aid they were promised and the resources they need to stay safe and stable. Thank you for your leadership.
