Can something be done about all the litter that is on both sides of every road in Arkansas? Can we have a state-wide campaign involving volunteers to clean the mess up? I know that occasionally a road crew is at work in places to clear away debris--but it is inconsistent and infrequent--so it always looks badly. The LRAFB has staff clean up the ditches adjacent to the back entrance of the Air Force Base. It is such a contrast with the untouched road sides past that section. Why is litter so bad? 1)It looks bad 2) Reflects on Arkansas citizens 3) Pollutes waterways as ditch water carries trash along with it. If we had a volunteer system set up, I would gladly sign up to help. Please consider this alongside the other legislative matters that brought to your attention and consideration.
