It is deeply concerning that vital funding for the Gabriella Miller Kids First Pediatric Research Program has been cut due to the whims of a billionaire who holds no elected office. Slashing $190 million from childhood cancer research to appease an individual's demands is a gross misallocation of priorities and a disservice to the American people. Children battling cancer deserve every available resource, not to have their care compromised for the sake of corporate interests. As representatives of the people, it is imperative to put the well-being of constituents, especially vulnerable children, above the wishes of the wealthy elite. Restoring this funding immediately would demonstrate a commitment to upholding the health and future of America's youth over the influence of the ultra-rich.
