No meeting on US soil should occur until Russia implements a full and verifiable ceasefire in Ukraine. The United States must stand firmly with an independent Ukraine and its territorial sovereignty, rejecting any illegitimate attempts by Russia to redraw borders through military force. Holding a high-level summit without preconditions that validate Russia's invasion gravely undermines the principles of respecting national sovereignty and international law that have underpinned peace and stability. The focus must remain on achieving a sustainable ceasefire through legitimate diplomatic channels that preserve Ukraine's territory and its choice of allies and partners.
