Mass deportations will negatively impact the nation's financial stability as several key industries rely heavily on immigrant labor, including agriculture, construction, and hospitality services. There needs to be a path to citizenship for individuals and families who have lived in the United States for decades and know no other country. We need to utilize the system in place to deport criminals in addition to tightening our borders and provide individuals with a legal path to citizenship. An expedited path to citizenship should be established for undocumented immigrants employed in critical need areas such as farming, housekeeping, and other essential vocations.
