The ongoing military campaign in Iran and the recent ultimatums issued to our NATO allies represent a catastrophic failure of American leadership that threatens to ignite a global conflict. The administration’s justifications for the war in Iran do not withstand scrutiny. It is increasingly clear that the imminent threat narrative was a pretext to collapse a sovereign state during a period when diplomacy in Oman was actually yielding results. This was not a defensive act; it was a war of choice that has predictably resulted in the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and a global energy crisis. It appears the administration has created this chaos specifically to use it as leverage to strong-arm our allies. Forcing NATO members and trade partners into a dangerous naval coalition by threatening the future of our alliances is not pragmatic realism—it is a protection racket. If the goal was shared security, it should have been addressed through honest, transparent diplomacy, not by manufacturing a war and then demanding our allies pay for the fallout. Furthermore, you must address the radical religious rhetoric being used by officials like Secretary Hegseth to justify this carnage. We are not a Christian nation, and our military should never be used to satisfy the "End-Times" visions of a radical religious sect. To do so is a betrayal of the Constitution and your oath of office. This runaway executive power grab is making the United States look like a belligerent, unreliable fool on the world stage, not a superpower. I urge you to: -- Invoke the War Powers Act immediately to force a vote on these hostilities. -- Legislate a "Check on Alliances": Pass laws requiring congressional approval before a President can unilaterally withdraw from or fundamentally alter our commitments to NATO. -- Hold the Administration Accountable: Launch immediate impeachment inquiries into those who have lied to the American public and the world to initiate this conflict. Do your jobs. Stop this insanity before it leads to World War III.
