Dear Governor Walz, I am a voter from MN. I voted for you, in fact. Why are the state patrol and sherrifs arresting peaceful protesters at the Whipple building??? Again? There are literal snipers on the roof of the Whipple building pointed at the protesters. This so called draw-down is a lie. Governor Walz, what you have done, what you are doing is not enough. ICE is kidnapping your citizens. Our refugees. Our neigbors. There were a lot of kidnappings on Satuday the 28th. Cars abandoned where their owners were dragged out of them, seatbelts cut. ICE is: violating the constitution, trampling human rights, realeasing people that they detained illegally into the woods around the Whipple building, injured! That's not even close to a complete list of the horrors committed by ICE, let alone our federal government in the last month. Not only that, but Where is the eviction moratorium??? Individual donations can only do so much. Where is your leadership? Where is state financial support? I could keep going. There is so much more. So much injustice. I am so angry. You are not running for reelection. You don't need to worry about campaign funds and corporate backing. Work with local government to pass laws that get ICE out. Talk with hotels housing ICE. If they wont listen, help cities apply pressure and pull their liquor licenses. Get your self out on the street and talk to your citizens. Send state funds to support mutual aid. Your time remaining in office should be laying the groundwork to protect our citizens. We need hope. Not disappointment. Not platitudes. Hope and solidarity. Do more. Do better. Start by protecting our protestors. Protecting our schools and daycares. Start supporting our neighbors who are afraid to leave their homes with an eviction moratorium. Help. Please help.
