Urgent diplomacy needed to end Gaza violence and restore peace.

To: Pres. Biden

From: A constituent in Austin, TX

The photos coming out of Rafah are horrific. The situation in Rafah and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is deeply concerning. The U.S. is aiding and abetting war crimes against the Palestinians. While emotions are understandably high, it's important to approach this constructively. I urge an immediate ceasefire and renewed efforts towards a negotiated peace that addresses the root causes of the conflict and upholds the human rights of all people. Continuing violence will only breed more suffering. The U.S. has a responsibility to use its influence to push for an end to hostilities and work towards a just resolution that allows Palestinians and Israelis to live in peace and security. Civilian casualties are never acceptable. All sides must prioritize protecting innocent lives over any military objectives. I implore our representatives to demonstrate principled leadership and take concrete steps to de-escalate tensions and restart meaningful peace talks. The path of violence and retribution is a dead end - wisdom and courage are needed to break this tragic cycle.
