So I've seen news stories that the Treasury department is designing a $1 coin that will depict Trump. I understand that 31 U.S.C. § 5114(b) forbids the U.S. Mint from issuing a medal depicting a living person. This law is inadequate. It should also include bans on issuing currency that depicts a living person. We are not a monarchy or dictatorship. Our currency should not depict our President, or any other living person. Please consider introducing legislation to prevent currency from depicting living persons.
