I applaud Senator Cornyn for encouraging further conversation with constituents before continuing construction of the border wall in Big Bend. And I applaud the pause in construction. This construction is opposed deeply by myself and many other Texas residents, as well as a great number of people who love Big Bend but live elsewhere. A different solution to border security needs to be found for this area. Do not sacrifice this precious landscape and its vital ecological role.
