Our tax dollars should serve the people, not political stunts

To: Sen. Banks, Sen. Young, Rep. Messmer

From: A constituent in Mount Vernon, IN

May 5

As your constituent, I am writing to strongly oppose any effort to use American taxpayer dollars for a military parade for President Trump. Spending over $90 million on such an event—especially at a time when Americans face real challenges like rising costs, student debt, and infrastructure needs—is fiscally irresponsible and politically divisive. Our military’s strength should be honored through care for veterans, support for troops, and investment in real security—not through spectacle and grandstanding. Please speak out and vote against any legislation or appropriation that would allow this wasteful spending. I urge you to use your position to ensure taxpayer money is used to serve the people, not political vanity projects.
