The American people deserve a Department of Justice that protects the Constitution, not an agency that acts as a weaponized, personal law firm for the Executive Branch. During his time as Acting Attorney General, Todd Blanche has repeatedly placed partisan loyalty above the rule of law and fiscal responsibility. His record proves he is unfit for a permanent appointment: - Abusing Taxpayer Money for Political Slush Funds: Blanche championed the creation of a $1.8 billion slush fund designed to hand out taxpayer-funded payouts to political allies, bypassing standard congressional oversight. While bipartisan outrage and lawsuits forced him to scrap the plan, the fact that he attempted to use billions of public dollars as a political piggy bank is disqualifying. - Shielding Power from Accountability: Blanche personally signed a settlement that permanently bars the IRS from auditing or pursuing past tax claims against the President, his family, and his businesses. This completely undermines the American principle that no one is above the law, regardless of their wealth or political power. - Weaponizing the Justice System: Rather than focusing on keeping communities safe, Blanche has utilized federal power to pursue vindictive, highly politicized indictments against civil rights organizations and political rivals. Whether you are a Democrat demanding civil liberties, an Independent who distrusts government overreach, or a conservative committed to fiscal responsibility, Todd Blanche’s record should alarm you. We need an Attorney General who respects the separation of powers, guards taxpayer dollars, and enforces the law impartially. Todd Blanche will not uphold that standard. I expect you to defend the integrity of our justice system, demand answers during his upcoming Judiciary Committee hearings, and vote NO on his confirmation.
