I am writing as a registered Republican who has voted for Democrat presidential candidates since 2008. I voted for Obama 2008 and 2012 and for Joe Biden in 2020. But I'm gravely concerned that President Biden will not be successful in defeating Donald Trump in November. I feel the handwriting is visible on the wall to everyone but the president. I have NO confidence in him at this time. We are seeing a man desperately hanging on that isn't putting the welfare of the nation ahead of his pride. We are surrounded by disaster on both sides. The Republican party can't prioritize democracy over their fear of Trump and desire for power and President Biden cannot allow a stronger candidate to come in and save us from the far right nightmare that awaits us with Trump. Our Constitution, our Democratic Republic is at stake and will be mortally wounded if Trump is elected. NATO and Europe will be at grave risk if Trump is elected because he will pave the way for Vladimir Putin. We need a strong Democrat candidate like Adam Schiff or someone like him who's a tiger for the constitution, our democracy, and our European allies. Mr. President, put down your pride and please step aside.
