Reject discriminatory anti-trans student bill protecting vulnerable youth

To: Sen. Sundareshan

From: A verified voter in Tucson, AZ

September 3

This proposed Senate Concurrent Resolution 1013 seeks to restrict access to school facilities based solely on biological sex at birth, disregarding gender identity or expression. Such measures have been widely condemned by health experts and anti-violence advocates as putting transgender and non-binary students at increased risk of harm. Major medical associations agree that denying restroom access corresponding to one's gender identity has serious negative impacts on mental health, safety, and educational outcomes. Numerous studies show no evidence that allowing transgender people to use facilities matching their identity poses any threat. I urge you to reject this discriminatory bill SCR1013 that compromises the wellbeing and equal treatment of vulnerable youth. Schools must be safe, supportive environments for all students.
